Like the German Hahnemühle, the French Lana is one of the oldest and most traditional European paper brands. The name Lana comes from the Vosges Mountains, where the paper mill was established in 1590 near the Gallo-Roman settlement of Villa Lana. In 1872, Lana found a new home in Strasbourg.
In 2007, the company LANA Papiers Spéciaux was founded. Since then Hahnemühle FineArt GmbH has been the exclusive partner and brand owner for the worldwide distribution of Lana artists' papers. We rely on our equally traditional and innovative know-how, our experience and strengths from the development, production and distribution of the finest papers for more than four centuries.
